Whirlpool — Employer Branding System
In 2010, Whirlpool Corporation India initiated a multi-agency design process to develop a distinctive employer brand identity that could communicate the company’s internal culture and value proposition to employees and prospective talent.
After reviewing speculative concepts from several design studios across India, Whirlpool selected Green Goose Design to lead the development of its employer branding system.
The design solution centred around a simple emoticon-inspired visual language, referencing the universally understood symbols commonly used in digital communication. By translating this idea into a structured graphic system, the identity made internal messaging more human, accessible, and memorable.
The visual framework used four core colours and adaptable layouts, allowing Whirlpool’s HR and communications teams to represent different aspects of the company’s employee value proposition in a consistent yet flexible way.
The concept resonated immediately with Whirlpool’s leadership and communications teams. The icon system quickly became embedded in the company’s internal communications and employer brand collateral, helping Whirlpool present a clear, approachable identity across multiple touchpoints.
This project demonstrates how simple visual systems can create powerful, scalable employer branding frameworks for global corporations.
